Jon Michelena

Jon Michelena works as the Head of Cinemas for Lumière and is responsible for the operation of its cinemas in several Belgian cities, including Antwerp, Bruges, and Mechelen. In this role, he oversees existing Lumière cinemas and is involved in developing new locations — for example, Lumière Mechelen, which is a repurposed old festival hall. He represents Lumière in industry events: for instance, he took part in the 2023 Belgian Film Sector Day, participating in panels on issues affecting cinema exhibitors (e.g. programming, energy costs, staffing, sustainability).
